With the final stretch of Autumn upon us, make the most of this wonderful time in the garden. Preparing your beds and planting winter crops now will set them up for a strong start to the upcoming season. Feed your lawns for lush winter grass and don’t forget to plant your bulbs to bring a splash of colour in the cooler months.

Chrysanthemums for Mother's Day

Mother's Day is a great opportunity to spoil your mother or mother figure with some chrysanthemums, or go a step further by planting some in the garden to bring some joy in the months ahead.

Chrysanthemums, commonly known as 'mums', are planted for their spectacular blooms that come in a wonderful variety of colours and forms. As the birth flower for November, they are a long flowering plant that not only look spectacular, but are easy to grow and maintain.

Choose a sunny position with well-drained soil and plant your chrysanthemums at the same depth as the pot. Water in well to help them settle in.

Once established, chrysanthemums benefit from a regular feed with Sudden Impact for Roses, which is ideal for all flowering and fruiting plants (not just roses). Its organic base provides a full range of plant nutrients in a slow-release form, whilst the carefully selected water-soluble nutrients have been added to maximise the performance of each application.

Hot Tip! If you're lucky enough to receive a bunch for Mother's Day, prolong their vase life by cutting the stems on a slight angle, and add a few drops of GOGO Juice into the water.
