Dear Members,

The Senior Practitioners Committee (“SPC”) invites you to the third edition of “Introduction to AI in Legal Technology - A Primer for Senior Practitioners 3.0”.

The first of this series was introduced in May last year and was fully subscribed. A second run was done in August and was equally well received. With the continuing developments in AI, the series is back this year for our busy senior practitioners. This time, the session will not only introduce AI in legal technology, but it will also go further and explain how the latest AI tools can be used effectively by senior practitioners. There will also be live demos on some practical applications.

There will be a 50-minute Q&A for our senior practitioners to ask questions and share their concerns on anything AI-related in a safe and informal environment.

The session will be led by an AI-industry expert, Mr Daniel Hobson from Clio, and our Council Member, Mr Lim Seng Siew, who will cover these topics:

1. AI fundamentals – An introduction to AI and its relevance and impact on legal practice.

2. AI in everyday work – A discussion on how to dissect your work to find where AI fits. Every firm is different.

3. AI as a second chair – Using AI on work you have already done: review, pressure-testing and brainstorming.

4. AI for sole practitioners and small law firms – Practical ways to adopt AI without significant resources or a dedicated IT team including live demos.

The session will be moderated by Mr M K Eusuff Ali, who is a member of the SPC.

Join us with curiosity and leave ready to take on the brave new world of AI in legal technology!

Please note that a registration fee applies and registration is required. Spaces are limited, and seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Senior practitioners with 20 years’ PQE or more will be given priority in the allocation of seats.

This session has been curated specifically for senior practitioners, so that participants can learn and exchange views in a setting shaped around their experience and practice needs. Under SILE's accreditation framework, public CPD points can only be awarded for activities that are open to all members of the legal profession. As attendance here is limited to senior practitioners, the session is not eligible for public CPD accreditation.
